The SAM Analyst will work as part of a global team and will support activities focused on reducing software licensing risks, improving transparency over software usage and entitlements, and supporting contract renewal and capacity management processes. The role requires good analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with stakeholders from procurement, finance, IT operations, service ownership, and license management.
Software contracts and renewal-related documentation with external software vendors,
Proof of purchase records containing information on purchased licenses, quantities, maintenance, subscriptions, and relevant licensing metrics,

Reference data such as asset status, application or service ownership, environment, CMDB information, and virtualization scenarios,
Cost, budget, forecast, and renewal-related data, where applicable.
The SAM Analyst will help support the contract renewal process by maintaining trackers, following up on open actions, collecting input from IT Managers and other stakeholders, and preparing status updates for the HoIT. The role will also include supporting the preparation of license and usage analyses, identifying data gaps, and helping document risks, assumptions, and next steps.
Many different software vendors are in scope, requiring rapid learning. All software types may be involved, including desktop, server, SaaS-delivered applications and cloud-related licensing models. Therefore, the job requires a good grounding in IT practices and terminology, as well as willingness to learn vendor-specific licensing rules and contract structures.
The job will involve regular work with vendor licensing terms and conditions, licensing metrics, entitlement information, software usage data, and assessments of how software is being used within the group. The SAM Analyst is not expected to act as a senior licensing expert from day one, but should be able to support structured analysis, documentation, stakeholder follow-up, and continuous improvement of the SAM and contract management process.

Ability to support license entitlement and usage reconciliation by comparing purchased rights, deployments, users, consumption, and contract metrics
